The Skin Cancer Centre provides early detection and management of skin cancer.

Early signs of melanoma may include:

  • Increase in size
  • Changes in colour and shape
  • Itchy and bleeding
  • Looks different from other moles

Australians have the highest rate of melanoma in the world.

6 easy steps to check your skin.

Check you skin every month, starting now.

  1. Strip off and have a mirror handy
  2. Check your chest, stomach, and the front of your arms and legs
  3. Now check the back of your arms and legs
  4. Twist and see your sides
  5. With the mirror, carefully check your face and your ears
  6. Have a relative or friend check your back. If this is not possible you can examine your back yourself. Simply look into a hand-held mirror while standing with your back to a wall mirror

If you do find a mole, freckle or spot that is of concern, make an appointment asap.
